Erel Margalit – JVP VC firm – calls french & european entrepreneurs

In this VIDEO interview, Erel Margalit calls french and european entrepreneurs for cooperation. The firm is very interested in investing in french companies.

Erel Margalit is the founder and managing partner of JVP a VC firm with offices in Israel (Jerusalem), France (Paris) and the USA (Los Angeles, New York).

The firm was established in 1994 when the venture industry emerged in Israel. Since then it has grown to more than $800 millions in 7 funds and has created more than 70 companies. They are leading companies in the technology sector.

One of them is Qlik Tech. This “Google into the enterprise” , featured as a “revolution in business intelligence”, is a company which started in Europe with a very strong international appeal. JVP recently concluded one of the largest exits ever in technology. The VC firm succeeded in multiplying its initial investment in Qlik Tech by close to 40 times, selling 30% of its holding for $112 millions.

Last November, Erel Margalit was invited to Monaco Media Forum 2010 as a speaker.

While attending the panel: “Faster Track: The view from Europe“, Neelie Kroes – VP for the Digital Agenda, European Commission with Patience Wheatcroft (Editor in Chief, The Wall Street Journal), he took part in the Q&A from the audience. Neelie Kroes was interested in his thoughtful remarks and she publicly invited him to Bruxelles to listen his insights on how to better help startups in Europe.

He also participated in the panel “Silicon Envy: Will Europe ever build the next new media giant? “ with co-speakers: Mike Butcher (Editor, TechCrunch Europe), Esther Dyson (Chairman, EDventure Holdings), and Jonathan Knee (Senior MD, Evercore Partners), moderated by John Gapper (Associate Editor, Chief Business Commentator, Financial Times).

In the following days, Erel Margalit met french entrepreneurs at the MEDEF in Paris during a private presentation he made on JVP.

And he was also invited at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Valérie Hoffenberg ( France’s President’s special envoy for cultural and economic aspects of the Middle East peace process) for a lunch with french entrepreneurs and institutions.

This is where this interview took place.
As you will hear, the firm is very interested in investing in french companies.
